Alas Que Recuerdan

The Story Behind Our Monarch Butterfly Earrings

Because migration was never meant to be criminalized.

Before borders, before barbed wire, before the idea that some people could be “illegal” on stolen land, there were wings. Monarch wings.

Every fall, they make their way to México. Not because anyone told them to, not because they carry documents. But because they remember.
They remember the way back.
They remember the sun-warmed path of their ancestors.
They remember that returning home is part of survival.

Our monarch earrings are inspired by that memory.
By the beauty and the bravery of migration.
By the way our people move through the world with roots in two places and hearts that carry generations of resilience.

Es la memoria de nuestros abuelos que cruzaron desiertos.
Es el perfume del cempasúchil en noviembre.
Es el regreso que siempre vive en nosotrxs, even when the map says otherwise.

We created these earrings for anyone who has ever been told they don’t belong.

For the niñas who grew up en la frontera.
For the madres who never stopped dreaming in Spanish.
For the ones who plant roots on new ground but still carry the scent of home.

Because monarchs don’t ask for permission to arrive.
And neither do we.

🧡 These aren’t just earrings.

They’re wings.
They’re memory.
They’re proof that we’ve always known our way home.
